Nitro Rewards, which allows Nitro customers to access deals from other gaming and lifestyle brands for free, was introduced by Discord on Monday. Upgrades to Discord, such as additional profile customization options, HD broadcasting, and the capacity to upload files up to 500 MB, are currently available through Nitro. Because you may simply use the platform without paying, the subscription is optional. Discord made this deliberate design decision. However, this also implies that acquiring new users can be challenging. Stanislav Vishnevskiy, co-founder and CTO of Discord, told TechCrunch, “Nitro has always been about how we can substantially increase the Discord experience, but not limit it [for free users] in any large way.” Users on the Nitro Basic ($2.99 per month) plan are not eligible for Nitro Rewards, but Nitro ($9.99 per month) customers are. However, Nitro Rewards’ allure may enhance value for members and help keep them.
