At the Samsung Galaxy S26 unveiling earlier this year, the company had already given Gemini access to several agentic features like ordering food or scheduling a ride. There, Google revealed that Gemini would soon be able to carry out increasingly complicated tasks, such as scheduling a front-row bike for a spin class, locating a class syllabus in Gmail, and then looking up literature on the subject. Pressing the phone’s power button and describing the task will activate this capability. In the meantime, the assistant’s context is provided by the material on the phone’s screen. Gemini will wait for your final confirmation before completing the checkout, according to Google.
