A Meta AI integration that functions similarly to X’s Grok is being tested by Hreads. To gain further context, users with public accounts will be able to mention Meta AI in a post or a reply. In Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Argentina, and Singapore, the feature is presently undergoing beta testing. In an email to TechCrunch, Meta explained that the functionality is intended to provide users with recommendations and real-time context regarding breaking stories and trends, all within chats. Inquiries such as “Why are people talking about the World Cup this month?” “Whose Met Gala looks are trending right now?” or “How are the Knicks performing in the playoffs?” can now be asked by mentioning Meta AI. After processing the invocation, Meta AI will produce a public reply written by the @meta.ai account. Meta AI will reply using the same vocabulary as the post in which it was mentioned. By incorporating Meta AI into its platform, Threads is presenting itself as a location where you can obtain information and suggestions without ever leaving the app, in addition to being a forum for discussing news and trends.
